I am not here to pursue my own personal agenda. My people need me!!

I keep thinking this is about me and about how well I can perform but it is NOT! I am blessed to be here, to be able to understand whatever I am capable of understanding. The message bible has an interesting way of putting this:

‘Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavours of this earth.’ Matt 5:13

It continues to say:

‘Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be the light, bringing out the God-colours in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearer, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I am putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop-shine! Keep open house; be generous with you lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.’Matt5:14-16

Africa cries for solutions to problems she did not even know she had. My people ask for help even before they see trouble-because they are sure it will come.

I am the light of Africa.

I am here on behalf of those who can’t be here. Whatever I study, whatever I am trained to do, however long it takes-I am Africa’s hope. I am her light. I am her present, future. It is for her that I struggle. For all those who can’t do what I can, and even for those who can but chose not to, for all whose chances to grow have been thwarted, for all those unborn dreams, unrealised goals.

I am the hope of Africa.

It is not just about me and how much I can gain from it..it is bigger than everything I am..for every girl, boy, man, woman, friend and foe. I am the hope of Africa, I am the world’s light.

So what must I do?

Learn like my life depends on it, study like it’s the very food I eat. I must work, pursue, train, excel, achieve and most importantly teach and help…this is the purpose of your struggle…

You are the hope, the light, the present, the future of your people.
